Introduction
This is a competency elective unit, which looks at the process of maintaining aircraft cabin equipment and furnishing
Course Title
ATTC is an approved training organisation by SkillsFuture Singapore for WSQ courses.
Industry Need
Those who want a career switch to aviation industry and newly recruited personnel, who wish to seek recognition as trained technicians in the aviation industry.
Course Objective
On completion of this unit, learner will have the knowledge and application skills for this competency unit using appropriate tools, equipment, materials and methods.
Course Synopsis
The competency elements covered in this competency unit are:
1) Maintaining Aircraft Upholstery
2) Maintaining Cabin Components
3) Maintaining Cabin Furnishing Installations
Primarily, people who require such competencies are technicians who perform aircraft maintenance (mechanical).
In relation to the WSQ Modules, this is the specialisation/elective competency unit that is required for the said qualification.
Course Structure
There are three competency elements. They are:
1) Maintain Aircraft Upholstery:
- How to identify aircraft upholstery that requires repair and/or replacement
- Techniques to replace aircraft upholstery
- Types of tools, equipment and materials for maintaining aircraft upholstery and their uses
- How often should aircraft upholstery be changed
- Safety precautions when replacing upholstery
- How to identify types of components to be serviced and repaired
- Process of servicing and repairing cabin components
- Types of tools, equipment and materials required for servicing and repairing components and their uses
- Types of documentations to be processed after servicing cabin components
- Safety precautions when servicing, repairing and replacing cabin components
2) Maintain Cabin Components:
- How to identify aircraft upholstery that requires repair and/or replacement
- Techniques to replace aircraft upholstery
- Types of tools, equipment and materials for maintaining aircraft upholstery and their uses
- How often should aircraft upholstery be changed
- Safety precautions when replacing upholstery
- How to identify types of components to be serviced and repaired
- Process of servicing and repairing cabin components
- Types of tools, equipment and materials required for servicing and repairing components and their uses
- Types of documentations to be processed after servicing cabin components
- Safety precautions when servicing, repairing and replacing cabin components
3) Maintain Cabin Furnishing Installations:
- Types of cabin furnishing installations to be maintained
- Process of maintaining cabin furnishing installations
- Types of tools, equipment and materials used for maintain cabin furnishing installations and their uses
- Types of documentations required after maintaining cabin furnishing installations
- Safety precautions when maintaining cabin furnishing installations
Student – Lecturer Ratio
Theory:Lecturer to Students is 1:32
Practical: Lecturer to Students is 1:16
Learning And Teaching Methods
All classes will be a mix of lectures and practical skills training
Student Assessment
WSQ courses are assessed by practical assessments
Admission Requirement
WSQ Employability Skills WPLN Proficiency Level 4 equivalent to Lower Secondary
Graduation Requirement
Successful completion of this course will lead to the award of WSQ SOA in Maintain Aircraft Cabin Equipment and Furnishing
Attendance Requirement
Students must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for all individual modules
SSG Funding
Only Singapore residents and Singapore PR (Permanent Residents) taking this course can apply for 90% subsidy on course fees. –
The general eligibility criteria for company sponsored applicants are listed as follows: –
1. Company are registered or incorporated in Singapore
2. Supported cost components (such as Course fees) are fully sponsored by company
3. Trainees are employees who are either Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident only
4. Trainee have achieved attendance requirement
